Christmas is the time of giving, but how can you gift sustainably? It’s often hard to find a gift which doesn’t harm the planet and to find a company which shares your green values.

Luckily our partners, Lush, have got us all sorted with lots of fantastic sustainable Christmas gifts this year.

Like every year, we’re loving their Christmas collection. With snow dragon, penguin and the most adorable gingerbread man bath bombs, there’s almost too much choice for the perfect Christmas gift.

There are plenty of other gifts which we’ve put on our Christmas list this year, like their snow fairy shower gel which is iconic candy sweetness, and they’ve even got Christmas cranberry soap!

The only problem is that with such a festive collection, you may just want to keep the gifts for yourself.

But if you’re feeling particularly festive, you could treat yourself to a reindeer bubble bar. We won’t tell anyone!

Take a look at their collection here.

But why are Lush great green gifters?

Lush are aware, like us, that we’re living in a climate emergency and that we need to do something about it. They’re committed to making a change, and they use Ecotricity to power their shops with fantastic green and vegan energy!

They’re also against animal testing, and 85% of their products are made entirely using organic, sustainably grown plant-based ingredients. All of their products are also cruelty free - which makes them the perfect place for you to buy Christmas gifts for your loved ones.

I’ve got my green gift – now how can I wrap sustainably?

Unfortunately, a lot of wrapping paper is not sustainable and is made from plastic. Often it goes straight to landfill, and this is not right. Luckily there are some alternatives, but you have to do your homework! There are businesses that make sustainable and even vegan wrapping paper – so check before you buy.

Want to get creative with your wrapping? You can ditch the traditional wrapping paper altogether and actually make your own. For gift tags – why not use old Christmas cards?

For eco-friendly wrapping paper, take a look at the Ethical Superstore. They have a great range – which won’t harm the planet.

Like we said, the more creative, the better. You could even make it a family activity to make your own wrapping paper and give prizes for the best wrapping.

Switch to Ecotricity via LUSH40 before 31st December* and you will receive a £40 per fuel voucher to spend at Lush!

*From 1st Jan this offer goes back to £25 per fuel
