Let’s set the scene. It was the summer festival season, and the Ecotricity Team were busy prepping for TWO festivals on ONE weekend. Our mission was to educate music lovers on why they should switch to green, vegan energy.
Half the team headed to WOMAD, near Malmesbury, Wiltshire and the others set up base at Vegan Camp Out, near Bicester, Oxfordshire.
The weather didn’t disappoint! Of course being a music festival, sunshine and showers are needed. More importantly, we succeeded in our mission by talking to festival goers about why renewable energy is the future for the UK rather than dirty fossil fuels.
At WOMAD, we held talks on the Ecotricity stand, chatted with people, held competitions, and everyone joined in the fun.
At Vegan Camp Out, it was a similar affair. We met lots of people who hadn’t heard of our vegan energy, and many were shocked that their energy supplier who may be green but not vegan. It was great to meet so many like-minded individuals who were passionate about creating a difference in the world we live in.
If you didn’t make it to either of these festivals don’t worry, you can watch some of the talks from the event below.
At WOMAD, Dale Vince entertained the crowds with a live recording of his podcast Zerocarbonista alongside TalkTV host, Ian Collins.
At Vegan Camp Out, our very own Katrina hosted a fascinating talk, called “Hidden Ingredients – how far do we look?”, alongside Henry and Ian from BOSH!, Juilet Gellatley from Viva! and our Chief Growth Officer, Paul Sands.
We all had a great time at these events and can’t wait for next year!
